I love the options and tastes of this wonderful restaurant in downtown Olympia. They have many gluten-free and keto menu items..plus if you make your eating plan known to your server, I've found that they always have many helpful hints and suggestions. Plus servings are quite large, usually I can only eat about half and I bring the rest home for leftovers! Pretty much everything there is homemade, and tastes very authentic.

I have eaten at the restaurant several times and since the Stay Home order have enjoyed getting their chicken and pork plates with tons of chips on the side. Highly recommend. I have also been told they do great margaritas that you can order to go as well.

I really enjoy this restaurant. The owner is very friendly and the staff is nice. I've been there a few times and the food is always delicious. I especially appreciate their salsa and salad bar. They also have a good selection of drinks. I am always happy and satisfied with my visits. I will definitely be returning. Thank you.

My name is Maria Isabel Guzman, owner of Equal Latin, and I would like to share my story.

In the year 2000, I arrived in the U.S. as a sixteen-year-old with no family and no knowledge of the English language. My first job position was as a dishwasher in a small restaurant. As I slowly learned English, I quickly moved through the ranks- first as a prep cook and eventually as a waitress and a cook.

When I arrived in Washington, I began working at a restaurant where I went from waitress to manager and stayed for 13 years. Along the way, my family grew and I met people that noticed and appreciated my work ethic.

Together, with my family, friends, and community, the idea of Equal Latin was born. A place that celebrates the diversity of Olympia and humans everywhere. Our menu represents a delicious mix of food from our many cultures.

After many years of dedicated hard work and a strong support system, I have realized my dream. A restaurant that welcomes all.
